Motivating Young Minds
A group of twenty students, aged between 16 and 17, from two schools (La Unidad Educativa Luis Boeto y la Unidad Educativa Guido Villagómez), participated in the workshop. Notably, the majority of participants were female. Sixteen students successfully completed the workshop and received their certificates. The workshop was led by Cindy Avendaño Montes, the National Coordinator of the Bolivian Badminton Federation.
Initially, some students were hesitant, as badminton is not widely recognized in Bolivia, especially in the city of Sucre. However, with the necessary support and encouragement, all students were able to overcome their shyness and actively participate in the workshop. Throughout the event, organizers kept a keen eye out for students who exhibited leadership qualities.
The workshop followed the teaching guidelines outlined in the Shuttle Time manuals, emphasizing effective interaction among all participants.

To conclude the workshop, a small tournament was organized, and prizes were awarded to the students. This exciting event further motivated the students and encouraged them to continue their training. In fact, some of them even joined the Sucre badminton team.
Force Multipliers
The workshop was designed to identify and cultivate new leaders, with the aim of strengthening the organization and fostering early learning and preparation. By doing so, the Bolivian Badminton Federation is working towards building a solid foundation for the future and ensuring the growth of badminton within the sports community.
The federation’s mission is to promote the teaching of badminton in Bolivia by nurturing young leaders. These leaders, equipped with teaching skills, are likely to become multipliers of knowledge, capable of teaching various activities and thereby strengthening the badminton community in Bolivia.
Positive Impact
The workshop had a positive impact, as it not only motivated students to remain involved in badminton but also attracted more people to the sport.
Araceli Liceras Taboada, one of the student-athletes, shared her experience, saying, “I really enjoyed it. Badminton is a highly inclusive sport, and through badminton, we were able to learn Olympic values. I will continue to strive for more knowledge and growth as an athlete, coach, or technical official in Bolivia. I want to express my gratitude to the organizers for their initiative.”
