My Experience as a Badminton Coach in Haiti
My journey with badminton began in an unexpected way. Growing up in a farming family, I faced hardships after the death of my father. However, my courageous mother believed that education was the key to a better life. She worked tirelessly to provide for our schooling, and thanks to her, I now have a master’s degree in social psychology and a promising career.

My love for badminton started when I watched it at the 1998 Olympics. I was captivated by the sport and started following it closely online. In 2014, I had the opportunity to work with the Haitian Badminton Federation, and in 2018, I became the national coordinator of the Shuttle Time Haiti program.
Badminton holds a special place in my heart. In a country like Haiti, where many young people face challenges, badminton can be a beacon of hope. It provides an alternative path away from delinquency and offers endurance, skill, and intelligence.
As the coordinator of the Shuttle Time program, I have been able to introduce badminton to schools across Haiti. The sport has gained popularity among young people, leading to a decrease in juvenile delinquency.
