Sharjah Hosts Successful Para Badminton Tournament

Sharjah recently hosted an outstanding Para badminton tournament as part of the prestigious International Wheelchair and Amputee Sports Federation (IWAS) World Games. The event, held in the United Arab Emirates, featured seven exciting sports, including badminton, archery, athletics, swimming, shooting, table tennis, and wheelchair fencing. With the Paralympic Games in Tokyo just around the corner, this IWAS tournament served as a crucial stepping stone for athletes.

Indian player Pramod Bhagat emerged as a star performer, clinching two gold medals in the men’s singles SL3 category. Bhagat also garnered silver in the men’s doubles SL3-SU5 event, partnering with Sukant Kadam. Additionally, Bhagat achieved further success by securing a gold medal in the men’s singles SL4-SL5 competition with his outstanding skills.
