In a thrilling showdown at the YONEX All England Open Badminton Championships 2018, Lin Dan showed his prowess and outsmarted his long-time rival Lee Chong Wei. Despite the cheers from the packed Arena Birmingham, Lin Dan dominated the match, winning in straight games with a score of 21-16 21-17. Lin Dan’s performance was nothing short of clinical and efficient. He displayed impeccable defense and strategically launched powerful attacks at crucial moments, gaining significant advantages throughout the match. There was a sense of control and inevitability surrounding him, as he has consistently proven to be a formidable opponent for Lee Chong Wei.

In a post-match interview, Lee Chong Wei candidly admitted that his attempts to attack were constantly thwarted by Lin Dan’s solid defense. Despite his best efforts, Lee couldn’t find a way to trouble the Chinese icon, who has been a constant obstacle in his pursuit of glory.

Lin Dan acknowledged that both players performed well, but he was able to secure key points. As he aims for his seventh All England title, he now faces a different challenge in the semi-finals against his fellow countryman Huang Yuxiang.
