International AirBadminton Comes to Malaysia for ANOC World Beach Games Asian Qualifier

Next week, Malaysia will host the ANOC World Beach Games Asian Qualifier, featuring International AirBadminton. From June 23 to 25, seven teams including China, Hong Kong China, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Mongolia, and Thailand will compete in the mixed team relay and men’s and women’s triples.

Exciting Lineup of Players

The event will showcase top international badminton players such as Wong Wing Ki Vincent and Chan Tsz Ka from Hong Kong China, Rionny Frederik Mainaky, Lyanny Alessandra Mainaky, Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani, and Marsheilla Gischa Islami from Indonesia, and Siti Nurshuhain, Joanne Quay, and Yap Cheng Wen from Malaysia.

Road to the 2023 ANOC World Beach Games

The winners of each triples event will earn one quota place (three athletes) for the 2023 ANOC World Beach Games in Bali. It’s an opportunity for these athletes to showcase their skills on a global stage. Additionally, Indonesia, China, Korea, and Malaysia have already qualified based on their World Team Rankings.

Venue and Format

The Qualifier will take place at the Beach Soccer Ground, Presint 4, Putrajaya from June 23 to 25. The mixed team relay will kick off with top seeds China, Indonesia, and Thailand in Group A, while second seeds Korea, Malaysia, Hong Kong China, and Mongolia will compete in Group B.

AirBadminton at ANOC World Beach Games in Bali 2023

Looking ahead, the ANOC World Beach Games in Bali 2023 will feature 72 athletes, evenly split between men and women, competing across four medal events: men’s triples, women’s triples, mixed doubles, and the mixed team relay.

Different Formats for Each Event

In the mixed team relay, each tie consists of five matches: women’s doubles, men’s doubles, mixed doubles, and two triples (XT1 and XT2). The matches are played until one team reaches 16 points or until a team in the fifth match reaches 80 points.

In the individual men’s and women’s doubles and triples, matches are played for the best of five games, with a game won by the side scoring 11 points.
