World junior champions Leo Rolly Carnando and Daniel Marthin showcased their talent at the elite level during the Asian Leg, resulting in a significant jump of 35 places in the BWF World Rankings. In the women’s doubles category, Malaysia’s Pearly Tan/Thinaah Muralitharan made their mark by breaking into the top 30, moving up nine places after reaching the quarterfinals in the first two events of the Asian Leg. Malaysians Chow Mei Kuan/Lee Meng Yean and Vivian Hoo/Yap Cheng Wen also made progress, climbing four and seven places respectively to secure the 10th and 17th positions.

Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Ashwini Ponnappa, semifinalists at the TOYOTA Thailand Open, made a remarkable leap of 16 spots, breaking into the top 20 for the first time in the mixed doubles category. France’s Thom Gicquel/Delphine Delrue, who performed exceptionally well and reached two semifinals in the three events of the Asian Leg, climbed three places to secure the 13th position. Goh Soon Huat/Shevon Jemie Lai also moved up the rankings to reach No. 10.

🏸 Shuffling Rankings in Singles

While there were no changes in the No.1 rankings in four out of five categories, Yuki Fukushima/Sayaka Hirota took over as the top pair in women’s doubles, displacing Chen Qing Chen/Jia Yi Fan due to their victory at the Denmark Open.

In the singles category, Viktor Axelsen and Carolina Marin, winners of the first two events in the Asian Leg, made slight progress, moving up two places in the rankings. Axelsen now holds the No. 2 spot, with a gap of 14,840 points behind the top-ranked Kento Momota, who hasn’t played since winning the Malaysia Masters in January 2020.
