Hendra Setiawan and Mohammad Ahsan continue to impress as they secure a spot in the Men’s Doubles final at the Li-Ning Singapore Open. This marks their third consecutive major final, having been runners-up at the Australian GP Gold and champions at the Djarum Indonesia Open. In their latest match, they demolished the challenge of world and Olympic champions Cai Yun and Fu Haifeng from China with a convincing 21-16, 21-14 victory. The Indonesian duo showcased their mastery on the court, preventing their opponents from utilizing their powerful attacking game. Ahsan and Setiawan employed a range of deceptive flicks, drives, and thundering smashes to leave the Chinese pair befuddled.

In the final, Ahsan and Setiawan will face top seeds Lee Yong Dae and Ko Sung Hyun from Korea. The Indonesian pair has already defeated their Korean rivals in Superseries finals earlier this year. The Men’s Doubles final promises to be an exciting showdown between two exceptional teams.

Other matches at the Li-Ning Singapore Open have been equally intense and closely contested. In the Women’s Singles semi-final, fourth seed Wang Yihan from China faced a tough battle against Lindaweni Fanetri from Indonesia. Fanetri put up a strong fight, winning the first game after four consecutive points. The second game saw Wang with ten game points, but Fanetri displayed resilience and won seven straight points before eventually losing the game. The match was decided in the third game, with Wang emerging as the victor with a score of 20-22, 21-17, 21-18.
