BWF News

Already a legend in the sport, Lee Chong Wei made history in badminton by being the first player to successfully use the instant review system and win a point from it. This exciting moment took place during the BWF World Superseries Finals 2013.

In a match against Wang Zhengming, Lee challenged a line call that was initially called “out” on the baseline. The umpire referred the matter to the referees, who reviewed the replay and overturned the decision, awarding Lee the point. With the support of the home crowd, Lee went on to win the second game and secure a comfortable victory.

The introduction of the instant review system in badminton has been well-received by players, as it ensures fairness and accuracy in crucial moments. Lee Chong Wei expressed his gratitude to the BWF for introducing this system, stating that it benefits both players and the sport as a whole.

In another match, Chan Peng Soon and Goh Liu Ying delighted the Malaysian fans with a comeback victory in Mixed Doubles Group A. After losing the first game, the duo fought back to win the next two games in a tight contest against Chris and Gabrielle Adcock.

As the tournament progresses, the competition is expected to intensify, with tough matches against China and Indonesia awaiting the Malaysian players. The excitement continues in the BWF World Superseries Finals 2013, with surprises and thrilling matches taking place.
