Teams from China and Hong Kong China have unfortunately been unable to participate in the Badminton Asia Team Championships 2020 in Manila, Philippines. The decision was made due to the 14-day quarantine period imposed by the Philippine government for athletes entering the country from China, Hong Kong China, and Macau China. This decision was made to prioritize the health and safety of the Philippine people, and all parties involved fully respect and support it.
The Badminton Asia (BA), Philippines Badminton Association (PBA), and the Badminton World Federation (BWF) have been working tirelessly to secure visa approvals for players and officials from these countries. However, due to the quarantine requirements, their participation was not possible.

However, concrete decisions regarding these implications have not been made yet. BWF will continue to monitor the situation closely and work with Badminton Asia and all Member Associations to provide the necessary support and information to the affected parties.
