Sindhu expressed frustration over her performance, acknowledging the high standards of the competition and emphasizing the need to minimize unforced errors. She felt that her mistakes cost her the match, as the shuttle frequently went out of bounds during long rallies.
An Se Young now looks ahead to a challenging encounter with the resurgent Carolina Marin in the quarterfinals of the DANISA Denmark Open 2019. A victory in this match will undoubtedly send a strong message to the badminton world about her ambitions.
On a different note, it was a mixed session for Korea as Sung Ji Hyun, ranked No.10 in the world, suffered an injury during her match against USA’s Beiwen Zhang. She was forced to retire midway through the third game due to a tendon distortion in her left foot. The match was at a delicate stage with a score of 14-21, 21-17, 13-9 in favor of Sung Ji Hyun.
