“I have participated in more than 80 tournaments, and my best result was winning the bronze medal in the Pan American Games in Toronto 2015.”

“I think I have traveled to 30 countries, almost all of America, some in Europe and Asia, and one in Oceania.”

What anecdotes come to your mind when you remember your trips?

“I have many anecdotes, but the most memorable one was being in Brazil and realizing I had forgotten my shoes in Mexico. Fortunately, Yonex, the brand that sponsors me, provided me with a pair of shoes, albeit one size bigger than mine. During the match, the shoes slipped off, but I managed to win the game.”

How does it feel to be one of the best players in Mexico?

“It feels incredibly rewarding. Although badminton is not as popular in Mexico, the competition is fierce, and becoming one of the best requires hard work and dedication. The effort is absolutely worth it.”

What are your short and medium-term objectives as a badminton player?

“My short-term objective is to win medals in singles and doubles at the Pan American Games and the Central American Games this year. In the medium term, I aspire to compete in the Olympics.”

Do you perform other activities in parallel to your career as a badminton player, such as studies or work?

“Yes, I am currently studying International Business and have one more year to go to complete my degree.”

How challenging is it to balance training and studying?

“It is undoubtedly challenging. I often wish there were more hours in a day and more days in a week. However, I manage to juggle both my studies and training, and I am doing well academically.”

How do you maintain commitment and discipline in your life?

“I have taught myself the importance of discipline. It is a fundamental aspect of both sports and everyday life. By staying disciplined, I can remain focused and determined in pursuing my goals.”
