Badminton Pan America

Olympic Mexican badminton player and current Director of Sports for the State of Mexico, Victoria Montero, has achieved her dreams through hard work, dedication, and perseverance.

To celebrate International Women’s Day, Badminton Pan Am is highlighting outstanding women in the sport through interviews throughout the month of March as part of the Pan Am Women’s Month.

Victoria Montero, a Mexican medalist in the Pan Am Games and Central American Games champion, started playing badminton at a young age. Her journey began at the Toluca club, where she joined a group of kids who played the sport. Since then, she has dedicated herself to the development of badminton in Mexico.

Montero’s achievements include winning the Central American and Caribbean Games in Mayagüez 2010 in singles, doubles, and by Teams. She also earned a bronze medal at the Pan American Games in Guadalajara 2011, which allowed her to qualify for the Olympic Games in London 2012.

Throughout her sports career, Montero has learned valuable lessons from both triumphs and defeats. She values perseverance, discipline, family, and the bonds of friendship that badminton has brought into her life.

Currently, Victoria Montero is serving as the Director of Sports for the State of Mexico. This position allows her to continue developing sports in her country and inspire others with her life story.

Despite the challenges and obstacles one may face, Montero encourages everyone to persevere and pursue their dreams. She believes that with determination, nothing is impossible, and anyone can achieve what they desire.
