News | BWF World Championships

The Li-Ning BWF World Championships is set to kick off with great anticipation for one of the best badminton events in history. As players make their final preparations at the Ballerup Super Arena, badminton dignitaries and guests gather at Copenhagen City Hall for a welcome reception. The event sees the attendance of renowned names in the sport like Lee Chong Wei, Chen Long, Ratchanok Intanon, and Li Xuerui, alongside local stars Joachim Fischer Nielsen, Viktor Axelsen, Christinna Pedersen, and Kamilla Rytter Juhl.

BWF President Poul-Erik Høyer expresses his excitement for the growing global demand for live badminton, emphasizing the importance of corporate partnerships in organizing large-scale events. He acknowledges the support of title sponsors Li-Ning, as well as Chery and RedBull China, and the Denmark-based partners.

Copenhagen, having hosted three previous editions of the BWF World Championships, takes pride in its unique relationship with the tournament. Li Zhujun, Director of Li-Ning’s Indoor Sports Business Unit, assures their commitment to providing the best service to badminton.

With players cautiously optimistic about their prospects, defending champion Ratchanok Intanon remains focused on the present rather than thinking about retaining her Women’s Singles title. Li Xuerui seeks to redeem herself after last year’s defeat, fully aware of the challenges that lie ahead.
