The Guangzhou Municipal People’s Government, the Chinese Badminton Association, and the Badminton World Federation have joined forces to launch the promotional campaign for the HSBC BWF World Tour Finals 2019. To kick-start the campaign, a Guangzhou City Double Decker Tourist Bus, adorned with the World Tour Finals theme and mascot, was unveiled at a press event in downtown Guangzhou. The bus will be touring the city from November 18 until the last day of the HSBC BWF World Tour Finals on December 15.
The event’s significance was highlighted by BWF Events Director Darren Parks, who expressed his excitement and described the World Tour Finals bus as a fantastic concept to generate fan interest. Guangzhou, which is hosting the season-ending finale for the second year, will continue to be the host city until the end of 2021.

The HSBC BWF World Tour Finals represents the pinnacle of the badminton season, with athletes vying for their share of the largest prize pool ever seen in badminton, amounting to US$1.5 million. The top eight players and pairs who qualify throughout the year-long HSBC Race To Guangzhou across the five badminton disciplines will have the chance to achieve ultimate glory.
This year has witnessed exceptional performances from athletes such as Kento Momota, Pusarla V. Sindhu, and Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan, who have already secured their spots in the finals due to their outstanding performances at the World Championships. The final announcement of the top eight athletes for each of the five events will be made after the rankings are finalized on November 26.
