The ‘Minions’ from Indonesia, Marcus Fernaldi Gideon and Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo, emerged victorious, beating out competition from Zheng Siwei (China) and Kento Momota (Japan). Similarly, Huang Yaqiong prevailed, triumphing over Tai Tzu Ying (Chinese Taipei) and Japan’s Women’s Doubles duo Yuki Fukushima/Sayaka Hirota. This prestigious accolade serves as both recognition and motivation for their outstanding performances throughout the season. Sukamuljo expressed, “It’s a great honor to win this award for the second straight time. It’s an inspiration for us to keep working hard. Han Chengkai and Zhou Haodong from China were bestowed with the Eddy Choong Award for Most Promising Player of the Year.
