Lin Dan Takes Victory at YONEX-SUNRISE Hong Kong Open 2017

Maestro of the badminton court, Lin Dan, showcased his exceptional skills as he defeated Ng Ka Long in an exhilarating match at the YONEX-SUNRISE Hong Kong Open. Despite Ng’s efforts to defend his Men’s Singles title, it was Lin’s experience that prevailed in the end. The match, lasting 66 minutes, was a rollercoaster of intense rallies, with Lin eventually emerging victorious with a scoreline of 17-21, 21-18, 22-20.

The second-round encounter between these two players captivated the spectators at the Hong Kong Coliseum. Although the crowd had their allegiance toward Ng, they couldn’t help but admire Lin’s mastery on the court. Lin showcased his calm and composed gameplay, even when faced with Ng’s relentless attacks. He raised his level during the second game, turning the tide in his favor and eventually securing the win.

Trailing 11-16 in the decider, Lin displayed his champion’s mentality by staging a remarkable comeback. He leveled the score at 18-18 and strategically lured errors from Ng’s racket to secure the victory. Lin’s triumph was especially significant after his early exit in the China Open, and he expressed his satisfaction with his improved world ranking.

Ng, despite his disappointment, acknowledged Lin’s brilliance and admitted that he couldn’t match the champion’s level in the crucial moments of the match. Lin’s compatriots, Chen Long and Shi Yuqi, will be his opponents in the quarter-finals.
