The Universiade Gwangju 2015 saw some surprising upsets as defending champions Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk and Lee Yong Dae/Ko Sung Hyun were eliminated from the tournament. In the Mixed Doubles event, Chinese Taipei’s Chiang Kai-Hsin/Lu Ching-Yao caused an upset by defeating Ko Sung Hyun/Yoo Hae Won. They will now face their compatriots Tseng Min Hao/Hsieh Pei Chen in the semi-finals. The second semi-final will be an all-Korean affair, featuring Kim Sa Rang/Go Ah Ra against Kim Gi Jung/Shin Seung Chan.
